Activities that take place from Pkl. 09.00 to 14.00 is a follow-up activity that was carried out in July 2025 in the assisted villages, namely Duwanur Village and Balawelin I Village, which also involved THP IKTL Study Program students. Mr. Adi, one of the NGO Team emphasized that: “While today’s activities we are focusing on follow-up plans for previous activities.” He further said that regarding the processing of marine and fisheries resources, it was hoped that students would be able to continue the processing practices that had been carried out in the assisted villages and that NGOs were ready to help in establishing the legality of the products made. The aim is that with labeled products, entrepreneurial students can market their products more widely and be recognized.
Chair of the Fishery Products Technology Study Program, Mrs. Donata Peni, S. Pi., Msi expressed her support for the activities organized by the NGO Pondok Perkerjaan. “This activity is in line with the tridharma of higher education, namely education, research and community service. So it is hoped that this collaboration will continue to be established to learn from each other and increase knowledge as well as foster an entrepreneurial mentality as one of the profiles of graduates from the THP Study Program.”
The next activity by Pondok Permobilan NGO in collaboration with THP Study Program students and participants from assisted villages was the practice of making seaweed cultivation tools using the Anaconda method. The Anaconda method as a seaweed cultivation tool is an alternative method to the method that is widely known by the public. According to Pak Adi, the Anaconda method is an environmentally friendly method and is also more effective in avoiding seaweed predators such as fish and crabs. With the Anaconda method, it is hoped that it can increase the yield of seaweed products with the best quality.
The training produced a seaweed cultivation tool using the Anaconda method which was then used as an example for the assisted villages in developing seaweed cultivation. Furthermore, seaweed seeds can now be obtained in Watowara village. And for students who want to process seaweed into processed ingredients ready for consumption, they can get seaweed in the assisted villages.
At the end of the activity, a group photo session was held. The hope of this activity is that all participants, especially THP Study Program students, will be able to utilize the marine and fisheries resources in East Flores to be processed into labeled ready-to-consume products. Apart from that, cooperative communication was also built between the Faculty of Technology and the NGO Pondok Perkerjaan for further activities.***(JMW)
