DPC PDI Perjuangan East Flores Celebrates Farmers’ Day with Farmers in the OKa Plain

REINHA.com – In commemoration of National Farmers’ Day, the East Flores Regency PDI Perjuangan DPC visited farmers in the Oka plains, Ile Mandiri District, East Flores Regency, Wednesday 24 September 2025.

Chairman of the PDI Perjuangan DPC for East Flores Regency, Antonius Hubertus Gege Hadjon, said that activities to commemorate National Farmers’ Day involved dozens of farmers in Oka. The activity began with visiting vegetable farmers in Oka, followed by harvesting together and discussing farmers’ problems Today in East Flores Regency.

Gege Hadjon emphasized that PDI Perjungan East Flores is ready to accommodate all input from farmers and make it a struggle to realize food sovereignty in East Flores Regency.

“Farmers is an acronym for Supporting the Indonesian State Order which was coined by President Soekarno in 1952. In the midst of climate change which does not mean agricultural problems are increasing, the problem is not only about the availability of water for agricultural production but also the tools needed for agriculture,” said Gege Hadjon.

Gege Hadjon also appealed to the public to always buy harvests from farmers in East Flores Regency.

“Let’s give appreciation to farmers by buying their products,” said Gege Hadjon.

The 2025 Farmers’ Day activities closed with a meal together and the distribution of seeds to farmers on the Oka plain.

Also attending the activity were East Flores Regency DPRD member Martinus Mao Welan, and East Flores Regency PDI Perjuangan DPC members, Beatriks Ina Duran Korebima, Maria Bernadeth Bunga Betan, Emilia Riberu, Fransiskus Padji Letor and East Flores PDI Perjuangan cadre Susmiati Ritan.***(JMW)
