Welcoming New Year 2026, DPD Golkar Holds Social Action in Temporary Housing for Refugees from Mount Lewotobi Eruption

REINHA.com – The East Flores Golkar Party Regional Leadership Council (DPD) held a Yellow Pocket Social Action for the Golkar Party at the end of 2025. The East Flores Golkar Party DPD handed over a number of aids to displaced residents affected by the eruption of the Lewotobi Volcano who were occupying Temporary Shelters (Huntara) in Konga village as well as independent refugees along the road to Nobo village.

When met by the media at the Konga Village Huntara location, Titehena District, (Wednesday, 31/12/2025) Chairman of the East Flores Golkar Party DPD, Yoseph Sani Bethan, conveyed that the Golkar party’s action was a form of concern for the people of East Flores at the end of 2025 and ahead of the new year 2026.

According to Yoseph Sani Bethan, the Yellow Bag for caring for the Golkar party is a donation as a form of concern from Melchias Marcus Mekeng distributed to the residents of East Flores ahead of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026, where the activity was carried out at the Huntara for residents displaced by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi.

Yoseph Nani Bethan added that activities related to the yellow canton had been carried out in several areas in East Flores, such as in Larantuka District, Demon Pagong, Lewolema District, and Tanjung Bunga. This activity, said Yoseph Nani Bethan, also reached workers at the Larantuka port as well as small traders along the Larantuka shopping arcade.

“Regarding the handover of Yellow Bag assistance for the Golkar Party at the Huntara, it includes the distribution of 100 basic food packages, 100 clothing packages and 200 rosary beads,” said Yoseph Sani Bethan.

“Hopefully this assistance at the end of 2025 and towards 2026 will be useful for the residents who receive it, especially for displaced residents in Konga shelters and independent shelters along the route to Nobo village,” said Yoseph Sani Bethan.
